Periodic maintanence mode
HI,
I have setup a monitoring for one of our servers - is there any possibile that I will disable monitoring for checks every day between 4 and 5 AM? Our server is processing bunch of crons at this moment and is not available, but this is planned - and I would like to avoid monitoring non working resources...
Status rule not executed?
I have set to check a web server (port 80) each 5 minutes with a status rule:
- Minimum check failures: 3
- During subsequent checks: 3
- passed checks to OK: 1
Based on that I should to get an error message when a web site will load slow (above 1000ms) at least 3 times in a row (overall after 15 minutes), but I'm getting an error message on each slow page load each 5 minutes.
Any idea what can be set wrong?
Thanks
Anturis central system alerting intermitten loss of server agent metrics
Is the central system that collects the agents' data going through some sort of update? There does not appear to be anything wrong with our servers/agents (and for all of them to fail at the same time is one massive coincidence).
We tried configuring the monitors to alert at a higher number of successive failures, but it seems that rule does not apply to this type of situation; we still getting massive alert burst whenever the central system fails to pick up metrics from our servers.
Up-time report ERRORS
I enabled the daily/weekly/monthly.
Most days everything is 100% which is great.
On days we have problems, the report appears to not always show the correct calculations.
I believe this is because I stopped the monitor during the incident.
Example: Daily up-time report fo 10 Dec 2014
Syst3046 | 99.8% | 0.2% - 3min | - | 1 |
Syst3083:Ping | 7.0% | 93.0% - 22h 18min | - |
The report for Syst3046 appears ok.
The report for Syst3083:Ping does not appear ok.
The incident for Syst3083 started at 20:41.
I realized that this was not an outage but a scheduled maintenance and so I stopped the monitor.
I restarted the monitor after the work was complete, which was roughly an hour later.
The daily report appears the monitor was down for 22 hours.
This is obviously incorrect since the monitor was up from 00:00 to 20:40.
Please let me know.
Thanks.

Active Page Title Like Gmail Plugin
Gmail uses this idea with the lab plugin (Unread message icon)
For example, right now it just says: "Anturis"
What about having it say: "Anturis (0 Down | 32 Up)"
or something similar.
I like to keep the page up to monitor status of servers and sites and it's a quick way to see what's up or down without having to open the tab.
Thoughts?
Are Windows Servers counted as one monitor or multiple?
US is down and everything is rgey in status
US location is down and all the monitors went grey 21.04.2013, The Locations says the US is OK, but no ifo is got from location
Don't you have any perofessional tools to monitor SQL Server?
