SNMP Device
A Simple Network Monitoring Protocol (SNMP) is the protocol that allows you to check network-attached devices, such as routers and switches, for reachability and the returned value.
Adding an SNMP device Monitor
Before proceeding, please ensure that you have created the component and your Anturis Private Agent for Windows/Linux is running.
- On the Component page, click Add/Remove Monitors > Add Custom Monitor.
- Select the Local Resources Monitors tab and Hardware sub tab view.
- Select SNMP device and click Next.
- Select a period of time from the Monitor Period drop-down menu.
- Select the agents (servers) from the list.
- Click Next.
- Under SNMP get properties, select the SNMP version.
- Set the response timeout.
- Set the number of retries for connecting to the server.
- Under SNMP device details, enter the host IP under Hostname.
- Enter the Community name.
- Enter the object identifier under Object ID.
- [Optional] Set the minimum and maximum values for the monitored SNMP object under Valid values intervals.
- Enter a Monitor Name and set consecutive measurements.
- Click Next.
- On the Monitor test result step, click Next when the test is passed.
- Click Finish.
To manage your monitor, click View/Edit parameters.
