Features
Hello I have got a question about the features of Anturis. All of them listed on the site are pretty straight forward.
Answer
Hello Arib,
I suggest you to use Custom Shell Command Monitor. It will run a shell command and it's output will be checked against a specified rule.
All you will have to do is to find a command which will provide info on installed programmes in your OS.
You can information on how to set up Custom Shell Command Monitors here: http://wiki.anturis.com/index.php?title=How_to_use_Custom_Shell_Command_Monitor
Okay, so if I understand it well:
Anturis has the functionality to write Custom Shell Commands. With these commands you can get information from your servers where an agent is installed? So in those commands I can "generate a list of all servers running application X, show version numbers"?
First of all these commands will be executed on systems where you set up Custom Shell Command Monitors.
Secondly available commands depend on OS of your servers. For example, in case of Linux the command would be dpkg or rpm with appropriate parameters depending on your distribution. Anyway Custom Shell Command Monitors is just a means to pass a command to server, but you have to prepare commands yourself.
Anyway Anturis would be way too complex tool for the task.
Hello Arib,
Sorry for delay.
