Integrate with web based alarm would be perfect.
Sound notification (Alarm System) would be the best. Sms and Email is good, but might not real time enough.

Hi!
This sounds interesting. What kind of API can be used to trigger the system you are refering? Is it some URL invocation? Thanks
For example. Nagios is using nagstamon plugin for it's alert/alarm . Reference sites : http://sourceforge.net/projects/nagstamon/
While some other commercial monitoring is using their own alarm system. eg: WhatsupGold "web alarm"

I'd like to add that a custom HTTP call to our own website (a callback mechanism) would definitely be appreciated as well. We like to have all information contained in our backend, so if we could get monitoring to update us as well - that would be great :-)
So please go on and up-vote this :) This is in our mid-term roadmap.
Right now people fwd our emails to their ticketing systems to create internal tickets.
Thanks

Done, Andrew.
Just to add to the idea map: http://www.pushover.net is what we use now to easily send push notifications to our mobiles - implementation takes like 2 minutes, and could replace the SMS notifications ;-)
