Getting 1600 error when trying to connect component to MySQL

I have looked through this forum to try and find an answer, but I have not had any luck with the other solutions. I have the agent running, which I installed in WHM, but I cannot get MySQL monitoring to work. I keep getting 1600 Access Denied error when I enter in my credentials. I have tried root and another user that has access, to no avail.
